Pietro Bianchi, a customs and trade attorney, has joined Barnes Richardson as an associate, the firm announced. Bianchi's practice will center on tariff classifications, compliance programs and trade remedies, the firm said. He joined from the Law Offices of Barry A. Schultz.

Andrew Beverina, a former official at the International Trade Commission, has joined Womble Bond in the Washington D.C.-based Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice group and IP Litigation team as of counsel, the firm announced. While at the ITC, Beverina served as a senior investigative attorney in the Office of Unfair Import Investigations, representing the U.S. in numerous Section 337 investigations involving trade secrets, utility patents, trademarks, trade dress, and design patents, Womble Bond said.

Sharon Lindan Mayl, former FDA senior adviser for policy, joined DLA Piper as a partner in its Washington D.C.-based FDA Regulatory team, the firm announced. At the FDA for over 25 years, Mayl worked on a host of matters involving food safety, nutrition, dietary supplements, cannabis products and cosmetics. She also worked on regulatory, legislative and policy issues, including aiding the agency's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, Center for Veterinary Medicine and Office of Regulatory Affairs, the firm said. Mayl will parlay this experience into aiding DLA Piper's Food, Beverage and Consumer Goods sector, the firm said.

Micah Myers, former senior associate general counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, joined Cozen O'Connor as a member of its Washington D.C. office, the firm announced. At USTR, Myers worked on various international trade negotiations, World Trade Organization disputes and proceedings as part of the USMCA labor enforcement team. Myers will advise clients on international trade issues including litigation, administrative proceedings and other matters, the firm said.

Brianna Krominga, former trade attorney at Stanton, joined business law firm LimNexus as a senior associate in the Washington, D.C.-based International Trade & Regulatory Compliance group, the firm announced. Krominga previously co-led a court-appointed compliance monitor team for the "largest criminal monitorship in U.S. history for export controls and sanctions violations," the firm said. Krominga also helped lead the Commerce Department Bureau of Industry and Security corporate audit of a Chinese multinational telecom company. Her practice will center on export controls, economic sanctions, customs and Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. matters, LimNexus said.

Maria Alejandra (Jana) del-Cerro, former regulatory and multilateral affairs analyst at the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Control's Policy office, has rejoined Crowell & Moring, the firm announced. Del-Cerro will serve as a partner in the International Trade and Government Contracts group, advising clients on aspects of export compliance including export controls, sanctions and Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. matters. At the State Department, del-Cerro worked to amend and interpret the International Traffic in Arms Regulations in promoting bilateral defense trade working groups' priorities, the firm said.

International trade attorney Brian McGrath left the employment of Crowell & Moring, the firm confirmed in a notice of withdrawal filed at the Court of International Trade. McGrath will head to work at Google after departing Crowell, where he will do export controls and sanctions work for the tech giant, John Brew, partner at Crowell, told Trade Law Daily. McGrath began working at Crowell in 2018, serving as an associate in the International Trade Group, focusing on compliance with U.S. sanctions, export controls and anti-boycott regimes, the firm said.

J. Philip Ludvigson, a former Treasury Department official, has joined King & Spalding as a partner in the Washington, D.C.-based International Trade practice, the firm announced. Serving at Treasury from 2019 to 2022, Ludvigson worked in the Office of Investment Security -- the office that chairs the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. -- as the acting deputy assistant secretary and was the founding director for monitoring and enforcement. Prior to his time at Treasury, Ludvigson served as the acting director of foreign investment risk management at the Department of Homeland Security, guiding the agency's CFIUS and Team Telecom participation, the firm said. Ludvigson's practice will center on advising clients on CFIUS jurisdiction and risk-related concerns, King & Spalding said.

International trade attorney Frances Hadfield has left Crowell & Moring, the firm confirmed in an Aug. 24 notice to the Court of International Trade. Working as counsel at Crowell & Moring in its International Trade Group since 2015, Hadfield focused on regulatory issues involving CBP, the Federal Trade Commission, FDA and the Fish and Wildlife Service, among other things, her LinkedIn page said. Hadfield will take a position as Assistant General Counsel for Customs & International Trade at Nike, a Crowell partner confirmed to Trade Law Daily.

Diaz Trade Law has hired Coraly Schreiber, who most recently worked as an attorney-adviser in the CBP Office of Trade, as managing attorney, the firm said Aug. 15.
