State Dept. Approves Military Sales to Saudi Arabia, UAE
The State Department recently approved three possible military sales to Saudi Arabia and one to the United Arab Emirates, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced last week.
One sale to Saudi Arabia includes $251.8 million worth of “AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder Missiles,” along with logistics and program support, and the principal contractor will be RTX Corp. Another sale includes $139 million worth of artillery system, machine gun and tank ammunition from U.S. Army stock and procurement vendors to be determined. The third sale will be $655 million worth of “AGM-114R3 Hellfire II Missiles” and related equipment, and the principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin.
The sale to the UAE includes $1.2 billion worth of “GMLRS and ATACMS Munitions and related elements of logistics and program support.” The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin.
