U.S.-Iranian national Jeffrey Nader was charged Aug. 14 with conspiring to illegally export U.S.-made aircraft parts, including components used in military aircraft, to Iran, DOJ announced.

Nader received purchase orders from Iranian customers and "coordinated the purchase of relevant aircraft components with business associates in Iran." He would reach out to U.S.-based suppliers of the parts, falsely claiming his California-based company, Pro Aero Capital, was the end user, DOJ said.

Nader then tried to ship the parts to the United Arab Emirates, where they were to be transshipped to Iranian users. A Commerce Department special agent detained the goods before they left the U.S.
