WTO Members Appoint Committee Chairs

World Trade Organization members last week agreed on chairpersons for 13 of the body's subsidiary committees for 2024, the WTO announced:

Committee on Agriculture: Hong Kong's Anna Leung
Committee on Anti-dumping Practices: Tunisia's Mohamed Zouhair
Committee on Customs Valuation: Spain's Sergio Prieto Lopez
Committee on Import Licensing: Jamaica's Tyesha Turner
Committee on Rules of Origin: Malaysia's Guna Seelan Balakrishnan
Committee on Safeguards: Japan's Jun Morikawa
Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures: Argentina's Cecilia Risolo
Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures: Germany's Wolfram Spelten
Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade: Ecuador's Daniela Garcia
Committee on Trade Facilitation: Thailand's Chanikarn Dispadung
Committee on Trade-Related Investment Measures: Egypt's Ahmed Diab
Committee of Participants on the Expansion of Trade in Information Technology Products: Taiwan's Ta-Lin (Peter) Shih
Working Party on State Trading Enterprises: South Korea's Jooyoung Lee.

Consultations are still ongoing for the chairperson of the Committee on Market Access, the WTO said. Canada's Nicola Waterfield will serve as interim chair.
