Census Offers Tips for Country, Transport Mode Errors in AES

The Census Bureau emailed tips this week on how to address the most frequent messages generated this month in the Automated Export System.

Response code 107 is a fatal error for when the reported Country of Ultimate Destination code isn’t valid in AES. Census said that code must be a valid International Organization for Standardization country code. The filer should verify the code, correct the shipment and resubmit.

Response code 511 is another fatal error for when the reported mode of transportation isn’t valid for the reported license code or license exemption. Census said filers should verify the mode of transportation and license code or exemption, correct the shipment and resubmit.
