State Dept. Approves Military Sales to Saudi Arabia, NATO

The State Department recently approved three potential military sales worth nearly $2 billion combined, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.

A sale to Saudi Arabia includes $1 billion worth of “Blanket Order Training” and related equipment. There is no principal contractor because training will be provided by the U.S. government or contract vendors “based upon requirements as they are determined,” DSCA said.

The State Department also approved a $780 million sale of stinger missiles and a $150 million sale of “C-17 Maintenance” to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Support and Procurement Agency. The prime contractors for the first sale will be Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, and the principal contractor for the second sale will be Boeing.
