Japan, US Talk IRA, Ethanol and Others' Non-Market Practices
Japan brought up issues it has around the Inflation Reduction Act, while the U.S. asked Japan to increase its use of ethanol and have better regulatory transparency for "certain products and services," according to a readout of a trade discussion between the two countries released Feb. 3 by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Japan is part of the trilateral partnership addressing non-market practices and policies, and the readout said the two sides "exchanged information on shared concerns about the non-market and trade-distorting practices of third countries and discussed concrete follow-up activities."
