USTR Solicits Comments on Trade Facilitation, Other Matters for Kenya Talks

The U.S. Trade Representative is seeking comments at regulations.gov on what its officials should talk to Kenya about in the areas of:

Customs and trade facilitation
Agriculture
Anti-corruption
Digital economy
Environment and climate change
Transparency and good regulatory practice
Workers Rights
Standards collaboration.
Other measures or practices that undermine fair market opportunities for U.S. workers, farmers, ranchers, and businesses.

Small businesses should self-identify in their submissions. The talks are not aimed at lowering tariffs, but the office said the U.S. is seeking "high-standard commitments" that would promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth, benefit workers, consumers and businesses and support African regional economic integration.

The deadline for written submissions is Sept. 16.
