India Mandates Certificate of Inspection for Rice Exports to Europe

Basmati and non-basmati rice exports heading from India to European Union member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are permitted so long as they have a certificate of inspection from the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency of India, India's Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a July 1 notice. Starting Jan. 1, 2022, the same certificate of inspection requirement will apply to all other European countries.
