Airlines Announce Cargo Fuel Surcharge Increase for Shipments Leaving Hong Kong

Due to the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department's recent introduction of the Cargo Fuel Surcharge (FSC) mechanism that runs until the end of June 2022, airlines have announced an increased FSC on all shipments leaving Hong Kong beginning on April 1. According to a C.H. Robinson alert, the FSC rates for long haul flights, including to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives, are as follows:

To North and South America HKD 1.50/kg
To Europe and the Southwest Pacific HKD 1.50/kg
To the Middle East and Africa HKD 1.50/kg
To Indian Subcontinent HKD 1.50/kg.

For short haul flights to other destinations in Asia, the FSC rate is HKD 0.40/kg. The full cargo fuel surcharge table can be found on the HKCAD website.
