State Department Approves Four Foreign Military Sales

The State Department approved four potential military sales -- to New Zealand, Australia, India and Morocco -- the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Nov. 20.

The DSCA approved a $1.4 billion sale to New Zealand of five C-130J aircraft, the agency said. The sale also includes 24 engines, 15 navigation systems, eight missile warning systems and more. The prime contactor is Texas-based Lockheed Martin.

A $245 million sale was approved to Australia and includes 850 “Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare Increment 1 Block 1 (JCREW I1B1) Systems,” DSCA said. The principal contractor is California-based Northrop Grumman Corp.

The agency approved a sale of 13 MK 45 naval guns worth about $1 billion to India, the DSCA said. The sale includes 3,500 “D349 Projectile” ammunition. The principal contractor will be Minnesota-based BAE Systems Land and Armaments

DSCA also approved a $4.25 billion sale to Morocco of 36 “Apache attack helicopters” and related equipment. The sale includes 79 engines, 36 night vision sensors, 551 “Hellfire missiles” and more. The prime contractors are Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin.
