USDA, Industry Groups Traveling to Vietnam to Try to Expand Export Markets

A top U.S. Department of Agriculture official is traveling with about 80 industry representatives and state government officials to Vietnam Oct. 15-18 to try to expand markets for U.S. exporters, USDA said in an Oct. 11 press release. Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Ted McKinney will lead the group to Ho Chi Minh City and also meet buyer delegations from Thailand and Burma, USDA said.

Trade associations traveling on the trip include the U.S. Soybean Export Council, the American Feed Industry Association, the Food Export Association of the Midwest, the U.S. Dairy Export Council and more. “The size of this trade mission delegation speaks to the phenomenal potential that exists for U.S. exporters in Vietnam and surrounding countries,” McKinney said in a statement. The USDA recently took a similar trade mission to Canada to expand sales for exporters (see 1908300049).
