USMCA-Related Delegation to Mexico Announced

House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Chairman Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., is leading a three-day trip to Mexico to meet with Mexican government officials -- including the president -- and other stakeholders. They are traveling both to the border, where environmental issues are a particular concern, and to Mexico City. The group is getting first-hand information for resolving issues related to passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the NAFTA replacement.

Others on the trip include:

• Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis., who is pro-trade
• Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Ala., who is pro-trade and serves on the Democratic Trade Working Group that meets with the U.S. trade representative
• Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., one of the few Democrats who likes the 10-year protection for biologic drugs
• Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., who is pro-trade and serves on the Ways and Means Committee
• Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., who is pro-trade and serves on the Ways and Means Committee
• Rep. Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., who serves on the Democratic Trade Working Group that meets with the U.S. trade representative
• Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., a NAFTA skeptic who serves on the Democratic Trade Working Group that meets with the U.S. trade representative
• Rep. Filemon Vela Jr., D-Texas
• Rep. George Holding, R-N.C.
