Feldman Confirmed as New CPSC Commissioner

The Senate confirmed Peter Feldman to be a commissioner on the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the CPSC said in a Sept. 25 press release. Feldman had previously been senior counsel to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, which has jurisdiction over CPSC, where he advised Chairman John Thune, R-S.D., on consumer product safety, data security and privacy issues. Feldman replaces former Commissioner John Mohorovic, who left CPSC in 2017 (see 1710180028), and will finish out Mohorovic’s term, which expires on Oct. 26, 2019. Feldman has also been nominated for a seven-year term beginning Oct. 27, 2019.
