CPSC Extends Comment Period on Proposed Safety Standard for Portable Generators
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is extending the comment period until April 24 on a proposed new safety standard for portable generators, it said (here). A proposed rule CPSC issued in November would set carbon monoxide emissions requirements and test procedures (see 1611180035). Compliance with the new safety standard would be required within one year of the publication date of the final rule for larger portable generators, and three years after the final rule is published for smaller portable generators.
