Eutelsat Seeks Additional Frequency Authorizations for E117WB Satellite

Eutelsat Americas wants to add additional uplink and downlink frequencies to its U.S. market access grant for its E117WB satellite launched in June. In an FCC International Bureau filing Monday, Eutelsat petitioned for modification to add the 13.75-14 GHz uplink band and 11.45-11.7 GHz downlink band to its market access grant. Eutelsat also asked that the FCC modify E117WB's market access grant to reflect that Mexico is now the registering agent of the satellite rather than Papua New Guinea, the country Eutelsat originally named in its application. It said the satellite is expected to reach its permanent orbit location of 117 degrees west by mid-December and begin operation early next year.
