CPSC Asks for Comments on Draft Strategic Plan for 2016-2020
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is asking for comments by March 9 on its draft 2016-2020 Strategic Plan, it said (here). The draft (here) emphasizes the importance of fully implementing the Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM) screening system and Trusted Trader program by 2020. It also calls for decreasing the time required to process imported products by developing uniform guidelines for admissibility determinations, increasing the number of products covered by easily enforceable “substantial product hazard” rules, and streamlining notifications to importers of non-compliant products.
