CPSC Asks for Comments on Potential New Labeling Requirements for Floor Coverings

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is asking for comments by Feb. 1 (here) on a petition from a safety advocacy group to require manufacturers of floor coverings to include their products’ slip resistance on labeling. The petition, filed by the National Floor Safety Institute, asks that CPSC issue a regulation requiring a label that would provide a graphic of a traction scale and indicate the coefficient of friction (COF) value for the product.
