President Barack Obama during a Friday press conference flagged ConnectED as an initiative he likes. This update to the E-rate program, “where we're going to be initiating wireless capacity in every classroom in America, will make a huge difference,” Obama said, citing its effects on both classrooms and teachers. The White House announced this initiative in the summer. He also touched heavily on National Security Agency surveillance concerns. (See separate report above in this issue.)
