AD: Korea Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip in Coils
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has initiated and issued the preliminary results of its antidumping (AD) duty changed circumstances review of stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Korea.
According to the ITA, Hyundai Steel Company (Hyundai) submitted a written request in March 2006 to ask that the ITA conduct a changed circumstances review to confirm that it is the successor-in-interest to INI Steel Company, formerly Inchon Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (Inchon).
The ITA has preliminarily determined that: (1) Hyundai is the successor-in-interest to INI, formerly Inchon, a respondent in the AD duty investigation whose AD margin was de minimis; and (2) merchandise produced and exported by Hyundai should be excluded from the AD duty order. (In June 2002, the ITA found that INI was successor-in-interest to Inchon and that it should be excluded from the AD duty order on subject merchandise from Korea.)
If these preliminary results are adopted in the final results, the ITA states that it will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to liquidate, without regard to antidumping (AD) duties, all entries of subject merchandise produced and exported by Hyundai with a time of entry on or after March 10, 2006, the date of INI's name change to Hyundai.
The ITA intends to issue the final results of this AD duty changed circumstances review no later than 270 days after May 8, 2006.
