State Dept. Approves Military Sales to Saudis, UAE
The State Department approved two potential military sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates worth more than a combined $5 billion, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Aug. 2.
Saudi Arabia will receive “PATRIOT MIM-104E Guidance Enhanced Missile-Tactical Ballistic Missiles” and related equipment for $3.05 billion. The principal contractor will be Raytheon.
The United Arab Emirates will buy “Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) System Missiles, THAAD Fire Control and Communication Stations” and related equipment for $2.25 billion. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Space Systems.
